Yuck.

Pacifiers in the toilet. Ugh. Yep it's one of those days.
On an up note...William decided to sit on his potty and go without any prompting from me. It was a pleasant surprise.

It's a small, small world.

Yesterday William finally perfected the art of opening doors. And then last night both discovered they could climb into the crib if the side is down.
This morning while I was indisposed they used their newfound liberties to get into grandmas room, climb into the crib and gave a jumping party.

Music makers

The boys just figured out they could play music by "strumming" the heat register.

Cracker Jack Prize

I grabbed the bag of tortilla chips for lunch and took some out. But I didn't just get chips. There was a toothbrush too. When I grabbed more I found a cell phone. Guess I'm the big winner of the day.

Empathy

I have a cold. I'm sitting here in a chai coughing away and feeling irritable. William comes up to me and starts petting my knee and then hands. Awe. What a tender heart. I knew there was empathy in there somewhere. :)

An Average Morning

I thought I would give you a peek into one of our mornings.
8:56am  I love my goofy men!  They are the best things in my world.  Well, people, not "things."  They keep me busy from son up to son down.
8:58  Someone smells stinky.
9:06  Yep.  I started to change Levi.  I heard something suspicious.  I wiped him down and let him air out while I checked on my suspicions.  Caught red-handed.  There was a packet of pudding left on the counter.  Someone snuck a chair past me and used it to get up by the kitchen counter.  William had opened the box and envelope and was spreading the powder all over the counter top. I started to wipe off his hands.  Correction.  It was not pudding it was red jello.  ugh.  Finished cleaning off William.  Diapered Levi.  Vacuumed red mess and wiped down counter.  Smelled another stinky diaper and promptly cleaned it.
9:14  William was asking for help.  I found him bringing me a stick that we sometimes put in the patio door to keep it shut.  It was hidden but he managed to get it out.
9:16  Someone or two someones are wanting to be tickled.
10:07  So we tickled for a minute or two and then I went off to start the dishwasher.  William was hauling his chair back into the dinning room and over to the kitchen counter.  I told him to put it away and then the crying and gnashing of teeth began.  He was not a happy little boy.  He did stop moving it closer to the counter but he wasn't ready to listen and return the chair to its proper place.  I noticed Levi hauling in another chair and I told him to put it away.  Thankfully he listened and I had to work with William to listen.  He finally started bringing it back and got about 2/3 of the way there.  Of course crying and fussing the whole way.  He asked for help and I moved it the rest of the way.  I told him he needed to get dressed and then he started crying again but he did go to the dresser.  He continued crying so I put him in the crib for a minute and shut the door.  When he calmed down I opened the door.  Crying started again.  Closed the door.  Stopped crying.  Opened door.  Cried.  Closed door.  Stopped.  Opened door.  Sorta crying.  I told him we needed to get dressed and finally got that done.  Then he wanted to cry and snuggle in the chair.  So we did.  Now Grandpa is here to play with the boys while I go find some paperwork and fill out some forms.
......

These boys really are the light of my life.  They have smiles worth a million dollars.

Recently Levi started saying Williams name but he says it as Liam.  William has heard Levi say this often and so now he starts saying Liam also.  He refers to himself as Liam and to Levi as Liam.  Just a bit of confusion right now.

William has peed on his potty a few times.  Yay!

They have expanded their television viewing to beyond Sesame Street and Signing Time.  Williams favorite is Caillou.  They both like Thomas the Train and Bob the Builder.

Bed head

Levi's hair had grown long enough that he now has bed head when he wakes up.
