I am unaware of my surroundings and I'm not sure who all is there. Something was missing from my right side. I was handed a baby boy. He was so precious. I help him close and said, "Hello Levi." Wait, not Levi. You are William. "Hello William." He was beautiful. Then he started to squirm and push and fight. He didn't scream or yell. He just wanted to move. Such strength in him. A fighter. A strong will. Perhaps he could crawl or even walk if I let him try. I struggled to keep him in my arms and not drop him. I wrapped my arms around him tight so he would not get away. I hope it will calm him down.
I was in another room alone with William. They were giving me time with him before I gave birth to the other boy. I so wanted to meet the other one and have both of them in my arms. I tried to leave the room so I could tell them I was ready.
William was gone from my arms. I was being handed another baby. He was so tiny, the size of a softball. He easily fit into the palms of my hands and as I wrapped my hands around the tiny body I kissed the top of his head. His head was barely showing above my hands. His eyes were closed. He was asleep. He lay there snuggled in my hands, safe and content.
I awoke from my dream. How lovely to meet them. I wish I could fall into my dream again and look at their faces for a while longer and hold them close. Sigh.
