I feel like I won the lottery. Okay, okay that may be an exaggeration but I am pretty excited. William was put down for a nap and he fell asleep on his own. That's right. I didn't rock him to sleep. In fact he didn't even seem tired but it was nap time and so to bed he went. He made some racket but it was playful racket. Within 15 minutes it was quiet. I checked on him and sure enough he was asleep. I danced a little jig and here I am bragging about it to you.
William has been doing pretty well about going to sleep at night without being rocked to sleep. It takes him an hour or longer to get there and he still goes through his routine of playful, restless, cranky, really restless and then crash. But after todays momentous moment (can I say that?) perhaps we have turned the corner.
I have been able to keep the boys on a very consistent schedule for the last week and a half and I believe that has made a significant difference in their attitudes. I have been trying to get them on a schedule but it seems that things have finally fallen into place. And a wonderful place it is too. They have a lot fewer moments of crankiness which makes for happier babies and definitely a happier Mama.
My little William is so close to crawling. He knows what it is he wants to do but just hasn't figured out how to do it quite yet. He tries so hard. It is fun to watch him get up on his hands and knees. Then he has to really show off and he gets up on his hands and feet with that butt sticking waaaayyy up in the air. I can't get over how strong he is. All of his attempts to crawl are not without a success of some sort. He may not make progress going forward but he sure can get somewhere in reverse. Too bad he isn't aware of his talent because he could put that to good use.
