This post has been brought to you by the number 10.

William surprised me today.  He was laying across my lap while I was tickling him.  Of course that meant he was giggling and squirming but loving every second of it.  Then I notice two white spots in his mouth.  Well dog-gone if he didn't have two new teeth.  I say "new" but they must have been there a while because they were significantly through the gums.  How did he squeak that by me?  He now has two upper pre-molars.  That brings his total to ten.

Levi still has his wonderful four teeth that do everything he needs them to do.  In fact the other day he was having a bath in the pool when he grabbed the bar of soap and left four teeth marks in it.  I thought letting him bite the soap would teach him it tastes yucky and not do it again.  Apparently the taste didn't phase him and he tried to do it again but I took it away.  This gives me flashbacks to watching A Christmas Story.  I certainly don't want him to become a "connoisseur of soap."

Levi has been enjoying the freedom to not wear clothing.  The +100º weather we were having was too much for me and for them so I didn't even entertain putting clothes on them for a few days.  Now that things are back to a more reasonable temperature I can't keep clothes on Levi without him getting angry about it.  He will follow me around crying and pulling on his clothing to say, "GET IT OFF!"  Needless to say I caved in and they don't wear clothes unless they are going away.  The up side is I have significantly less laundry to do and changing diapers goes a lot faster.  Well, faster when they aren't trying to roll over and stand up on the changing table.

The boys don't speak much but they sure understand a lot.  Sometimes I'm surprised at how much they comprehend.  However they can say: uh-oh, mama, amma for grandma, and bup for up or sometimes for William it also means down.  Mostly they talk through pointing and saying, "EH."

Levi loves to point.  That little finger of his wants to direct anyone and anything.  I have even seen him early in the morning when he is sitting in his crib (and doesn't realize I am there) pointing to the door or stairway because he wants to get out.  He is always pointing at something he either wants to have or wants me to do for him.

William will point too but not as often.  Sometimes he will grab my hand or Grandma's hand and try to make our hand do what he can't get his hands to do.  Such as putting toy pieces together or pulling something apart.

And then there is, "no."  I have worked with them on the concept of yes and no.  Nodding is yes and shaking your head is no.  I have been able to get Levi to mouth the word "no" but he never did take off on speaking it.  However, shaking his head is a regular occurrence.  He understands all to well what it means and when to use it.  Ah, the power of "no!"  William occasionally will shake his head to say "no" to me.  But for the most part he does it when I am telling him, "no."  At least I know he understands me.
